The Hilton Americas hotel creates an exciting element for the skyline. The colorful materials were mirrored in the landscape design creating a strong streetscape edge for pedestrians. The pattern of plantings and pavers were developed specifically for this district to create a sense of identity and level of sophistication distinct from other areas of the city.
Then, Clark Condon worked for the Houston First Corporation and with Hilton Americas to design a 12,000 sf outdoor urban plaza as an extension to the hotel along a block and a half of Crawford Street. We created an iconic streetscape with the inclusion of multi-purpose pedestrian spaces, vibrant accent paving, lighting, plantings, an alley of sycamore trees leading to Discovery Green, an urban lounge area with a water feature and an al fresco dining area.
