A prominent fixture within Collins Park, the Veterans War Memorial offers visitors a space for reflection and remembrance. The American flag, Texas flag, and POW/MIA flag stand tall behind a stone wall entryway, proudly honoring U.S. service members. All six branches representing the United States Armed Forces are etched into the 8-foot-tall black granite monuments that border the memorial’s central loop and lawn. The site was carefully situated amongst existing trees, providing shade for those visiting the space. Additionally, new concrete pathways provide accessibility from nearby parking areas.
