Clark Condon worked with the City of Houston to create a master plan to update the Sharpstown Park and Pool. The master plan focused on better utilization of the spaces; creating a more welcoming entry sequence for the park, community center and golf shop; and updating the facilities. We removed the pool from its current location and created a new, centrally located, family-oriented pool to create a better swim experience for the community.
With funding from the city and TIRZ 20, the first phase was implemented from the master plan. This phase included the new pool, a playground and expanded the parking lot. The pool features a beach entry, open splash and swim areas, dedicated lap lanes, a wide slide and lots of shade for those hot summer days. The complex was opened on May 25, 2019, and kicked off the city’s 2019 summer swim season.
