The Covenant House

The Covenant House, a non-profit organization serving at-risk and homeless youth, opened a new facility in Montrose, and Clark Condon provided landscape architectural services for the site. There are diverse programming elements integrated to serve the various age groups and functions led by the Covenant House staff. An active courtyard is positioned outside of a large indoor gymnasium. There are more intimate courtyards available for residents seeking respite, relaxation, or counseling sessions. A social courtyard with an outdoor kitchen and dining area allows opportunities for staff to host barbecues and other social functions. The design of the courtyards, planting, and exterior fencing and walls all support a safe environment for users in need of shelter, aid, and a sense of community. The mission of this new facility is to provide a beautiful, active home for youth who are seeking camaraderie and a safe environment to thrive.
