TAMU Mitchell Physics

The Mitchell Physics Building, completed in 2009, is certified as a LEED Silver project and the first Texas A&M University Building to have a rooftop garden. The 10,000-square-foot Cynthia Woods Mitchell Garden above the three-section lecture hall is dedicated to the beauty of nature and is utilized for study breaks. It features native Texas plants chosen for their fragrance and color. In addition to the initial funds for the garden, George Mitchell provided an endowment solely dedicated to its maintenance. Clark Condon provided landscape architectural design for the project.
