The Woodlands Waterway is a 1.2 mile long transportation corridor linking office buildings, shopping, dining, residential and entertainment venues in The Woodlands Town Center. The extension from Lake Robbins to The Woodlands Mall includes a turning basin and water taxi stop. There are distinctive pedestrian bridges over the water. In addition to facilitating water taxis the extension is also a pedestrian corridor with a variety of urban amenities. The waterway is eight feet lower than the surrounding mall and required several stairs, ramps and elevators to provide access between them. The design includes accent fountains and festive lighting.
