Clark Condon worked with the design team on the development of a new corporate headquarters for Tesoro in San Antonio. Phase One is a 23-acre parcel within the master planned 120-acre commercial office park. A challenge for the design team was to create an iconic presence appropriate to Tesoro’s brand image while remaining respectful of the native hill country landscape. Key design considerations included Tesoro’s phased expansion, sustainable design and operations, future adjacent development and vehicular circulation. The design includes many outdoor spaces of varying levels of formality. All of the plant material was contract grown by local nurseries. The project achieved LEED Silver certification.
