The new Hewlett-Packard campus is located in Springwoods Village, a new 2,000-acre mixed-use development in Spring, Texas that aims to set the precedent for sustainability and greener living. The nearly 12-acre site has two office buildings, a parking garage, a basketball court and 4.5 acres of native and adaptive planting. The lush planting design provides a warm welcome and adds to the overall character of the site. All of the buildings are connected via custom paving patterns that help direct employees and visitors to their destinations. The project is also LEED certified.
Currently, a multi-purpose building named “The Hub” is being constructed in the middle of the campus between the two office buildings. The Hub will serve not only as a dining hall for employees but also a gathering place for events and town hall meetings. Extending out from the building will be an open lawn and grilling area. On top of the new building, a green roof containing native Texas prairie plants will add a sustainability feature to the site.
