Dress for Success is a not-for-profit organization that promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire and a network of support and career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. Part of a worldwide network of more than 120 affiliates, the Houston location is the only branch to build and own a permanent facility. The key design items for the landscape architecture included a roof garden designed to be flexible for everyday use by staff and visitors as well as for hosting special events. The garden was designed on modular pedestals including a pavement system with plantings in water conserving tray systems. The second significant space is the entry garden that recognizes donors and invites clients into the building. This project was completed with Ziegler Cooper Architects and is LEED certified.
