Research Forest Lakeside
Research Forest Lakeside is a 77-acre premier office development in the master-planned community of The Woodlands, Texas. The vision for the development was to emulate the “live, work, play” mentality as it includes open public areas, Class A office space and retail space. This mixed-use project is dramatically located on the shores of Lake Woodlands and provides beautiful views of the lake. We designed the project with connectivity in mind as well as the proximity to the lake. The campus is also connected to The Woodlands’ 200-mile trail system. The heart of the campus is a created “natural stream” with large slabs of stone and gravel all shaded by a grove of elm trees. The signature “halo” walkway links the two primary buildings together. The large, tiered water fountain is in the “halo.” Meandering lighted trails connect the office buildings to a mixed-use retail and restaurant cluster with multiple outdoor seating and event venues. The project is certified LEED Silver. As part of a green initiative, the site includes extensive reforestation and native planting to embody the feeling of walking through a forest.
