Clark Condon collaborated with Hines, Ivanhoé Cambridge and architecture firm, Pelli Clarke Pelli on Texas Tower, a 47-story, one-million-square-foot office tower in downtown Houston. With a user experience focus, the guiding principle for the project was the creation of a sustainable office tower with a strong hospitality flair that is warm and inviting. This heavily influenced the streetscape design, as well as the two roof top terraces. The terraces provide ample open space for events and parties featuring a trellis, stone step garden paths, raised garden beds, and outdoor seating with luxury lounge furniture. Organic paving patterns with flowing lines leads people to the main entries adjacent to the iconic urban pavilion. Multiple outdoor dining spaces provide flexible seating options surrounded with warm tone materials and native perennial plantings. The entire site will be 100% irrigated with recycled water from AC condensate and rainwater. Texas Tower has been awarded the prestigious LEED Platinum certification.
