Celebrating a lifetime of achievement
| Beth Clark – Trailblazer. Entrepreneur. Landscape Architect. Designer. If you’ve had the pleasure of working with Beth throughout her career, these may be some of the words that come to mind. Well-known for her intricate hand drawings and detailed design, as well as her knowledge and willingness to share it, Beth has contributed greatly to the profession of landscape architecture and our region through her work. Her energy and passion transcend from a design on paper to a place that users can enjoy for years to come. Thirty-five years ago, Sheila Condon and Beth Clark set out on a journey to open their own firm. As young, eager women in the industry, they worked together to build the legacy that is Clark Condon. Early on, they were awarded projects like the Cinco Ranch Beach Club, METRO transit centers, and Broadmoor Kretschmar Park. Whether it’s the Mediterranean-style details at Vintage Park, the park-like landscape at the Shell North American Headquarters, or the lush gardens at La Cantera in San Antonio, Beth has left a lasting impression on each project she had the pleasure of working on. She also played a large part in the new Houston Botanic Garden, a first of its kind for our city. Throughout her career, she has devoted a large portion of her time to non-profit organizations for prairie preservation and local community gardens like Urban Harvest. Most recently, she contributed to her Alma Mater of Santa Fe to design a healing garden for their community after the tragic events in 2018. Regardless of the project or scope, Beth poured her heart, soul, and talent into each project she touched. While we will greatly miss having Beth in the office full-time, we are overjoyed she will continue on as a consultant for the firm. When she isn’t consulting, she plans to enjoy time with her family, quilting, and loving on her grandchildren.
