The “Firethorne,” more commonly known as pyracantha, is the symbol of the 1,400-acre Katy master-planned community. Firethorne blends the best nature has to offer with everyday living. Amenities include 150 acres devoted to parks and recreational activities highlighted by the 12-acre lake with surrounding greenbelt and trails, parks and playgrounds, as well as a wildlife observation area. Family amenities include a swim center, sports fields, tennis courts and a neighborhood community center. Clark Condon worked carefully with the developer to design a brand that told the story of Firethorne throughout the community. Imagery was used to help weave this within.
