Clark Condon is a Houston-based Landscape Architecture firm specializing in the design of creative, interactive and meaningful outdoor environments for our clients and the community. As Landscape Architects, we create landscapes that are creative, sustainable, sophisticated and interactive. We believe our success is in a large part due to our attitude and flexibility in working with our clients throughout project design and implementation. We listen, collaborate and then develop a plan to meet their individual needs and goals. We do not follow a set style of design, but a signature of quality resulting in satisfied clients who return again and again for our expertise.
Our range of professional services includes site analysis, programming, conceptual and preliminary design, cost estimating, site planning, design and design development, construction documents and construction phase services.

Sheila Condon PLA, FASLA - Principal / Owner Email
Sheila earned a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture at Rutgers in 1981. With a commitment to sound landscape design practice, she co-founded Clark Condon four years later. She has built the firm with highly skilled professionals and an operating philosophy of engaged, enthusiastic collaboration with clients. Her leadership directs and supports a team disciplined in how to respond to the growing value of environmental stewardship. Sheila is the past recipient of the Outstanding Alumni Award from the Department of Landscape Architecture at Rutgers University. In 2006, she was invested as a Fellow of the American Society of Landscape Architects.
Scott Slagle PLA, ASLA - Principal / Owner Email
In our profession where the big idea is driven by constant observation, Scott is focused on the details and efficiency. Since earning his Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from Kansas State University more than 30 years ago, he’s honed his technical expertise in design, project management, construction administration, specifications writing and supervising teams.
Paul Weathers PLA, ASLA, LEED AP - Principal / Owner Email
As Design Principal, Paul directs and oversees the firm’s design solutions from the standpoint of both creativity and constructibility. He comes to landscape architecture from an undergraduate degree in sculpture from The University of Texas. He received his Master of Landscape Architecture from the University of Texas – Arlington. His artistic training, coupled with his thoughtful approach, results in innovative projects. As a certified arborist and a Texas Master Naturalist, Paul is a leading influence regarding sustainable design. He’s worked as an urban designer and landscape architect throughout the US and internationally. His reputation for creative design and open collaboration is well established.
Beth Clark PLA, ASLA, LEED AP - Principal Email
Beth co-founded the firm with Sheila in 1985. After some time abroad, she rejoined the firm in 2004, bringing a long history of award-winning landscape design practices. Beth is a graduate of Texas A&M University where she received her Bachelor degree in Landscape Architecture. Adept at bringing clients and consultants together to achieve design solutions for complex projects, she focuses on creative concepts and detailed implementation. She provides extensive knowledge of plant materials and enhancing natural environments.
Jason Miller PLA, ASLA, LEED AP - Principal / Owner - Team Leader Email
Jason has been with Clark Condon since graduating from The Ohio State University in 1998. He has spent 17 years honing his detailing and management skills to a level of excellence. Jason understands the importance of compatibility between team and client, along with the necessity of relationship building. He imparts collaboration in teams from the earliest stages of a project to its completion.
Andrew Konyha PLA, ASLA - Senior Associate Email
Andrew grew up in New Orleans. He comes by his love of landscape design naturally because of his passion for the outdoors. He is a graduate of Louisiana State University. As an internal Team Leader, he keeps projects focused from start to finish. Andrew is passionate about design concepts coming to life. With a specialization in construction administration and management, he has seen many projects — of all scales — successfully completed. He draws tremendous reward from happy clients who ask to work with him again.
Elizabeth Gilbert PLA, ASLA - Senior Associate - Team Leader Email
Attention to detail, communication and meeting client’s goals while satisfying the project users are the most important aspects of design to Elizabeth. She has spent more than 12 years building a diverse portfolio, as she has managed numerous projects in both the public and private sectors. She specializes in public spaces and has experience as Project Manager on a variety of scaled projects. She leads our City of Houston CIP parks design phase contracts, which involve coordination of many consultants, public input, fast-track schedules, phased construction, interaction with many stakeholders and design for a wide variety of recreational amenities.
Mary Keilers PLA, ASLA, LEED AP - Senior Associate - Team Leader Email
Mary joined Clark Condon in June of 2007 upon her graduation from Texas A&M University where she received a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture. During the last seven years, she has been involved in a variety of project types and now leads one of our internal teams. Mary has a special interest in sustainability and has made extraordinary efforts to become more knowledgeable about native plants and soils and their use in design.
Mat Funk PLA - Senior Associate Email
Mat has a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture from the University of California, Davis. He joined Clark Condon in 2005. His responsibilities have included design, project development, project management, construction administration and client relations. Mat has the ability to work with a client to ensure that the finished project meets their vision, is functional for the site, aesthetically pleasing, and within budget.
Katie Golzarri PLA, ASLA - Senior Associate Email
Katie has over 10 years of experience in Landscape Architecture. A native of Michigan, she is passionate about the public input process and listening to the needs of the community. She has assisted numerous municipalities with the development of parks, recreation and trails master plans. She especially enjoys connecting users to parks and designing hike and bike trail systems.
Carol Berry Accounting Manager Email
Carol joined Clark Condon more than ten years ago from the steel industry. She enjoys the creative atmosphere at Clark Condon. Carol is our Accounting Manager and handles all of the firm’s financial and HR-related functions. With a warm attitude, Carol supports the administrative team and encourages positive interoffice morale.
Chryse Jerome Accounting Assistant Email
As Accounting Assistant, Chryse supports the accounting department and facility operations for Clark Condon. Her administrative experience spans 28 years in both public and private sectors. Chryse found her home with our team in 2003 and feels the A/E/C industry is the niche she was looking for.
Valerie Cesari Marketing Manager Email
Valerie has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Relations from the University of Houston. She has spent the last 10 years in the A/E/C industry working for a variety of disciplines as an in-house marketer and an outside consultant. Valerie manages our marketing, business development and public relations efforts.
Hannah Vallow Administrative Manager Email
Hannah graduated from the University of Houston in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and Public Relations. With two years prior experience in healthcare, she is new to the A/E/C industry. Hannah assists the administrative staff at Clark Condon with daily operations.
Brandon Whittaker PLA, ASLA, TX Licensed Irrigator | Associate Email
Brandon is a graduate of Louisiana State University where he received his Bachelor of Landscape Architecture. He has been at Clark Condon for more than three years. Brandon is a Licensed Irrigator and serves as an Assistant Project Manager. His responsibilities include production of drawings, coordination with consultants, management of the production of construction documents and construction administration. Brandon’s attention to detail and technical knowledge bring value to every project he delivers.
Jason Buckley PLA - Associate Email
Jason’s enduring passion to learn, especially in the topics of horticulture, design, and planning are what led him to a career in Landscape Architecture. Jason graduated from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He values teamwork and is devoted to accomplishing a shared goal and achieving it at its highest level. He helps in a variety of tasks including production of drawings, produced renderings and perspectives, coordination with consultants and management of the production of construction documents.

Jake grew up in Wisconsin working for his family’s greenhouse and farm market business, which ultimately led to a passion for nature and food systems in urban environments. Having previously worked on multiple award-winning projects, he is focused on creative and implementable details that make a project unique. Jake graduated with a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 2011.

Ben is a listener and knows that excellent design stems from a thorough understanding of the client’s needs and goals. He is a recent graduate of Louisiana State University where he received his Bachelor of Landscape Architecture. Ben draws inspiration from travel, observation, and reading— seeing other countries has opened his eyes to the numerous ways that we interact with landscapes. Whether working with a team of colleagues, developers or other professionals, Ben makes it his responsibility to see that the strengths and ideas of the group are utilized so the best formula for design is produced.

Matt is originally from Upstate New York. He is a graduate of Louisiana State University where he received his Masters Degree in Landscape Architecture. This profession compliments his interests and background in drawing and fine arts. He is motivated by the endless possibilities of designing for the built environment and creating projects that uniquely define a space.
Ashley Johnson ASLA Email
Ashley grew up in northwest Indiana and achieved an undergraduate degree in Fine Arts, with a focus in sculpture, from Indiana University Northwest. Her desire to combine her passion for fine arts with the built environment lead her to pursue a Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture. Since graduating in 2013 from Ball State University, she has had the opportunity to work on projects such as; park, streetscape, and downtown master plans; public schools and recreation fields; and interpretative and way finding signage. Her career desire is to make legible the connections between human society and natural systems, through the design of an artful space.
Brendan Cloney Assoc. ASLA Email
Brendan was born and raised on the south side of Chicago and recently graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecture. He draws inspiration from many different forms of design, as well as from observing the way users interact with the spaces around them. Brendan enjoys creating spaces that influence the greater community through creativity and innovation.
Travis Termini Email
In addition to growing up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Travis earned his Bachelor’s Degree from the Robert Reich School of Landscape Architecture at Louisiana State University in 2013. While the more recent years have helped shape his path, Travis first found his passion for the profession at an early age through installing and maintaining various residential and public spaces. His carefully honed industry skills paired with his love for art and design allow him to create thoughtful and inspiring environments.

Spencer is from Pendelton, Indiana, a small town outside of Indianapolis. He graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2016 from Ball State University with a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture. His interest in the built environment is coupled with his desire to create meaningful and impactful projects that incorporate history, ecology and culture into the design. Drawing inspiration from the environment, Spencer aims to preserve local environments and build a better future.

Austin has been in Houston since 2013, but grew up in rural Illinois. He appreciates diversity, new environments and the opportunities afforded in a large city, like Houston. Austin enjoys the design process and believes that bringing innovation to the table inspires the team to strive for new and better ways to create and change the way we think. He graduated from the University of Kentucky in 2013 with a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture.

Stephen is a Houston native with a background in the performing arts. He graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor’s Degree in landscape architecture and minored in sustainable architecture and planning. He believes that creating experiences for communities, by communities is essential to not only the health of the city but also its inhabitants, and designers have the opportunity to further create frames of reference that serve to engage and empower populations to promote and influence positive change in the built environment surrounding them when they explore unique channels of inspiration. He draws inspiration from an array of mediums such as music, literature and theater and aspires to create innovative landscapes.
Christian Whitehead Assoc. ASLA Email
Christian graduated with a Bachelor’s of Landscape Architecture degree from Clemson University in 2017. He is a Don Collins Award winner and received the SCASLA Student Award of Honor. His passion for landscape architecture stems from his desire to make a positive impact on people and the environment through ways that were previously deemed impossible. He is a self-driven learner who draws inspiration from personal experiences such as his time spent studying abroad in Genova, Italy. He is new to the Houston area and enjoys outdoor activities and sports.
