Clark Condon is a Houston-based Landscape Architecture firm specializing in the design of creative, interactive and engaging outdoor environments for our clients and the community. For more than three decades, Clark Condon has engaged in a multitude of projects within various disciplines to enrich the lives of our end-users through our passion for excellent design and quality of work.

As Landscape Architects, we create landscapes that transform outdoor spaces and make them more enjoyable. We believe our success is in a large part due to our attitude and flexibility in working with our clients throughout project design and implementation. We listen, collaborate and then develop a plan to meet their individual needs and goals. We do not follow a set style of design, but a signature of quality resulting in satisfied clients who return again and again for our expertise.
Our range of professional services includes site analysis, programming, conceptual and preliminary design, cost estimating, site planning, design and design development, construction documents and construction phase services.
Meet Our Team
Sheila Condon PLA, FASLA - Principal / Owner Email
As President of Clark Condon, Sheila oversees design and general operations for the firm. Her depth of experience, from recreational and commercial facilities to public sector projects, gives her a broad-based knowledge that assures accuracy and client satisfaction. Sheila remains engaged, enthusiastic and collaborative with all the firm’s clients and projects. Moreover, her leadership directs and supports a team disciplined in how to respond to the growing value of environmental stewardship. Sheila earned a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture at Rutgers in 1981 and co-founded Clark Condon four years later. She was also the past recipient of the Outstanding Alumni Award from the Department of Landscape Architecture at Rutgers University. In 2006, she was inducted as a Fellow of the American Society of Landscape Architects.
Scott Slagle PLA, ASLA - Principal / Owner Email
In our profession, where the big idea is driven by constant observation, Scott is focused on the details and efficiency. Since earning his Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from Kansas State University more than 30 years ago, he’s honed his technical expertise in design, project management, construction administration, specifications writing and supervising teams. Scott’s professional expertise and depth of technical knowledge make him well respected in the design community.
Beth Clark PLA, ASLA, LEED AP - Principal Email
Beth co-founded the firm with Sheila Condon in 1985. After some time abroad, she rejoined the firm in 2004, bringing a long history of award-winning landscape design practices. Adept at bringing clients and consultants together to achieve design solutions for complex projects, she focuses on creative concepts and detailed implementation. She provides extensive knowledge of plant materials and enhancing natural environments. With more than thirty years of experience, she specializes in all phases of project design and implementation. She has a proven ability to work with teams of professionals and consultants to build consensus and bring a project to successful completion.
Jason Miller PLA, ASLA, LEED AP - Principal / Owner - Team Leader Email
Jason has been with Clark Condon since graduating from The Ohio State University in 1998 and is now a Principal. He has spent 19 years honing his detailing and management skills to a level of excellence. Jason understands the importance of compatibility between team and client, along with the necessity of relationship building. He imparts collaboration in teams from the earliest stages of a project to its completion. He serves as an internal team leader with experience on projects of all types with involvement from design through construction documents. Jason is experienced in adhering to project schedules and budgets to guide a project to successful completion.
Andrew Konyha PLA, ASLA - Principal Email
Andrew grew up in New Orleans. He comes by his love of landscape design naturally because of his passion for the outdoors. As a strong project manager, he keeps projects focused from start to finish. Andrew is passionate about design concepts coming to life. With a specialization in construction documents and construction administration, he has seen many projects— of all scales — successfully completed. He draws tremendous reward from happy clients who repeatedly ask to work with him again. He has experience on projects of all types with involvement from design through construction documents to construction administration. Andrew is organized and committed to adhering to project schedules and budgets— guiding projects to successful completion. Andrew has focused on the development of detailed construction documents, construction administration and management. His technical expertise with contract documents, details, specifications and oversight during construction results in easy-to-build projects.
Elizabeth Gilbert PLA, ASLA - Principal - Team Leader Email
As a Principal with Clark Condon, Elizabeth is adept in communication, attention to detail and meeting clients’ goals. She has spent more than 14 years building a diverse portfolio and managing, as well as designing, numerous projects in the public and private sectors. She specializes in public spaces and has experience as a Project Manager and Designer on a variety of projects including streetscapes, parks and master planned communities. Elizabeth excels in complex coordination between the design team, client and stakeholders. Elizabeth also serves as an internal team leader at Clark Condon where she manages a team of six, which includes mentoring, scheduling, project management, design and client relations.
Mary Keilers PLA, ASLA, LEED AP - Principal - Team Leader Email
Mary is a landscape architect and Principal at Clark Condon where her primary role is to create outdoor spaces that attract and invite visitors to explore areas outside. She has made extraordinary efforts to become an expert regarding native plants and grasses, their use in design and how to make the places she designs more sustainable. Over the years, she has worked closely with various nonprofits on how design professionals can aid in the conservation, restoration and rehabilitation of urbanized spaces. Mary is also a team leader within the firm and manages a team of seven, which includes mentoring, scheduling, project management, design and client relations. She graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor in Landscape Architecture and has been with the firm for more than 10 years.
Mat Funk PLA - Senior Associate Email
Mat has a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture from the University of California, Davis and joined Clark Condon in 2005. His responsibilities include design, project development, project management, construction administration and client relations. Mat has the ability to work with a client to ensure that the finished project meets their vision, is functional for the site, aesthetically pleasing and within budget.
Katie Golzarri PLA, ASLA - Senior Associate Email
Katie graduated from Michigan State University in 2003 with a degree in Landscape Architecture. A native of Michigan, she is passionate about the public input process and listening to the needs of the community. She has assisted numerous municipalities with the development of parks, recreation and trails master plans. She especially enjoys connecting users to parks and designing hike and bike trail systems.
Jake Salzman PLA - Senior Associate Email
Jake grew up in Wisconsin working for his family’s greenhouse and farm-to-market business, which ultimately led to a passion for nature and food systems in urban environments. As a Senior Associate with Clark Condon, he leads and manages projects from design through construction with efficiency, attention to detail, mindfulness of the budget and coordination of the design team. Jake is a talented designer and works seamlessly with clients to bring their visions to life by pinpointing unique, innovative and beneficial solutions. He utilizes his broad experience in various project types to identify hidden opportunities and added benefits in each of his projects, which ultimately leads to a successful design and implementation. Jake graduated with a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 2011.
Carol Berry Accounting Manager Email
Carol joined Clark Condon more than a decade ago from the steel industry and enjoys the creative atmosphere within the firm. Carol is our Accounting Manager and handles all of the firm’s financial and HR-related functions. With a warm attitude, Carol supports the administrative team and encourages positive interoffice morale.

As Accounting Assistant, Chryse supports the accounting department and facility operations for Clark Condon. Her administrative experience spans 28 years in both the public and private sectors. Chryse found her home with our team in 2003 and feels the A/E/C industry is the niche she was looking for.
Valerie Cesari Marketing Manager Email
Valerie has more than ten years of experience in the A/E/C industry and has worked for a variety of disciplines as an in-house marketer and an outside consultant. Her background in public involvement, graphic design, marketing and public relations gives her a unique perspective of the built environment. Valerie manages the marketing, business development and public relations efforts for the firm. She graduated from the University of Houston in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Relations.
Hannah Vallow Administrative Manager Email
Hannah graduated from the University of Houston in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and Public Relations and most recently graduated with her MBA. With two years prior experience in healthcare, she is new to the A/E/C industry. Hannah assists the administrative staff at Clark Condon with daily operations.
Brandon Whittaker PLA, ASLA, TX Licensed Irrigator | Associate Email
Brandon is a graduate of Louisiana State University where he received his Bachelor of Landscape Architecture. He has been at Clark Condon for more than five years. Brandon is a Licensed Irrigator and serves as a Project Manager. His responsibilities include the production of drawings, coordination with consultants, management of the production of construction documents and construction administration. Brandon’s attention to detail and technical knowledge bring value to every project he delivers.
Jason Buckley PLA - Associate Email
Jason is a licensed landscape architect with more than five years of experience designing various project types including corporate campuses, residential towers, mixed-use, healthcare and competitions. His interest in construction systems, fabrication, and horticulture have influenced his way of designing projects from the details up and thinking about how materials and forms affect the feeling of a space. Jason graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelors in Landscape Architecture and minor in horticulture.
Amanda Haney PLA, ASLA - Associate Email
Amanda, a Houston native, is fueled by her passion for creating meaningful spaces for the community while balancing the built and natural environments. Amanda graduated from Texas A&M University where she fostered her love for creativity and design. Helping clients derive solutions to environmental challenges through innovation and creativity is one of her main goals as a an environmentally conscious landscape architect. Amanda believes in the power of collaboration while also allowing her experiences to influence unique designs. Her strengths with organization and teamwork allow her to be efficient in group settings and a valuable member to the team. As Chair of the Houston Gulf Coast Section of Texas American Society of Landscape Architects and an active member with Urban Land Institute, Amanda devotes time to furthering the profession within her community. Amanda also likes to give back to her alma mater, dedicating time to mentor Texas A&M Landscape Architect students as a Professional Advisory Board member.
Ashley Johnson PLA, ASLA Email
Ashley grew up in northwest Indiana, and achieved an undergraduate degree in Fine Arts, with a focus in sculpture, from Indiana University Northwest. Her desire to combine her passion for fine arts with the built environment lead her to pursue a Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture. Since graduating in 2013 from Ball State University she has had the opportunity to work on projects such as; park, streetscape, and downtown master plans; public schools and recreation fields; and interpretative and wayfinding signage. Her career desire is to make legible the connections between human society and natural systems, through the design of an artful space.

Born and raised on the south side of Chicago, Brendan draws inspiration from many different forms of design, as well as observing the way users interact with the spaces around them. He enjoys creating spaces that influence the greater community through creativity and innovation. Brendan graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelors degree in Landscape Architecture in 2016.
Travis Termini PLA, ASLA Email
In addition to growing up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Travis earned his Bachelor’s Degree from the Robert Reich School of Landscape Architecture at Louisiana State University in 2013. While the more recent years have helped shape his path, Travis first found his passion for the profession at an early age through installing and maintaining various residential and public spaces. His carefully honed industry skills paired with his love for art and design allow him to create thoughtful and inspiring environments.

Spencer is from Pendelton, Indiana, a small town outside of Indianapolis. He graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2016 from Ball State University with a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture. His interest in the built environment is coupled with his desire to create meaningful and impactful projects that incorporate history, ecology and culture into the design. Drawing inspiration from the environment, Spencer aims to preserve local environments and build a better future.
Austin Taphorn PLA, ASLA Email
Austin has been in Houston since 2013, but grew up in rural Illinois. He appreciates diversity, new environments and the opportunities afforded in a large city like Houston. Austin enjoys the design process and believes that bringing innovation to the table inspires the team to strive for new and better ways to create and change the way we think. Austin spent the early part of his career engrossed in working on multifamily projects, most of which were on structure. He graduated from the University of Kentucky in 2013 with a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture.
Stephen Parsons Assoc. ASLA Email
Stephen is a native Houstonian with a background in music and the performing arts. He is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a Bachelor’s Degree in landscape architecture and a minor in sustainable architecture and planning. He believes that creating experiences for communities, by communities is essential to not only the health of the city but also its inhabitants. By exploring uncommon channels of inspiration, designers have the opportunity to create unique frames of reference that serve to engage and empower populations while influencing positive change in the built environment that surrounds them. Stephen draws inspiration from an array of cultural mediums such as music, literature, fashion and theater. He aspires to help blur the lines between designers and the communities they design for, focusing on the sociological and cultural implications of the changing built environment.

Christian graduated with a Bachelor’s of Landscape Architecture degree from Clemson University in 2017. He is a Don Collins Award winner and received the SCASLA Student Award of Honor. His passion for landscape architecture stems from his desire to make a positive impact on people and the environment through ways that were previously deemed impossible. He is a self-driven learner who draws inspiration from personal experiences such as his time spent studying abroad in Genova, Italy. He is new to the Houston area and enjoys outdoor activities and sports.
RYAN STEIB ASLA, LEED AP Email
Ryan joined Clark Condon after gaining valuable experience with studios in Boston and Houston, where he worked on a wide range of projects both domestically and abroad. With a Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecture from Louisiana State University, he has developed a passion for transformational spaces which allow people to feel a true connection between the built and natural environments. Ryan leverages his experience in the design and implementation of projects of all scales, including public spaces, retail developments and museum exhibitions, to create thoughtful, well-rounded spaces programmed for a multitude of users and experiences. More recently, Ryan’s efforts have been focused on leading multiple corporate headquarters campus projects throughout the U.S.

Drawn to the balance between art, science and business within Landscape Architecture, Chris enjoys the multi-faceted approach of the profession and has developed the various skills necessary to design and implement successful projects. He is a process and results-oriented designer and uses opportunities to not only solve problems big and small but to also bring innovative ideas to the table through design, process and relationships across all stages of a project. Chris grew up on the south side of Chicago and graduated in 2011 from the University of Wisconsin, Madison with a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture.
Leticia Garcia Email
Leti was drawn to landscape architecture due to the magnitude of nature and the power that it carries, as well as its ability to heal, remind and create. Through patience, an open mind and an eagerness to learn from her peers, she brings attentiveness and creativity to her projects to initiate new ideas and provide solutions. Leti is driven by the opportunities available to her and uses them to help her grow as a designer. Before graduating in 2018 from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture degree, she placed third in a competition to design the new Healing Garden project at Methodist Hospital in Houston and met former First Lady, Laura Bush.

Kathleen was born and raised in Virginia and graduated Cum Laude from Clemson University in 2018. As a new designer, she draws inspiration from nature’s colors, textures, smells and sounds as it is important to take note of these different aspects in nature since it influences so much of what we design as landscape architects. Whether she’s sketching for a client or in her notebook, Kathleen is devoted to providing functional and delightful spaces for her clients through innovation, collaboration and by pushing the boundaries as a designer. A devoted Tigers fan, she enjoys sports, exploring outside or experimenting with new hobbies.
